How to get there

The Hamburg State Opera and opera stabile can be reached comfortably by public transport – your ticket is valid for transportation with HVV (public transport system). From the S-Bahn stations “Dammtor” (S11, S21, S31) and “Jungfernstieg” (S1, S2, S3) and from the U-Bahn stations “Stephansplatz” (U1) and “Gänsemarkt” (U2) it is only a few minutes’ walk to the Opera House. Buses 4, 5, 34, 36 and 109 stop directly in front of the State Opera and on Gänsemarkt.

Parking is generally limited in the inner city; however, there are several parking garages available. If you arrive by car, you can use the garage “Parkhaus Gänsemarkt” (access and exit via Dammtorwall and Welckerstraße), for example. As of April 17 2018, The APCOA car park “Gänsemarkt” will be introducing a new evening parking rate of € 11,00 in the time between 6 pm and 6 am of the following day.

up to 30 minutes: 2,00 EUR
up to 60 minutes: 4,00 EUR
Each additionally started 60 minutes: 4,00 EUR
Evening rate (6:00 PM to 06:00 AM): max. 11,00 EUR
Daily fee (24 hrs.): max. 30,00 EUR
